define business concepts and provide business context for catalog assets through definitions, synonyms, related concepts, and ownership information.

Glossary Terms Ecosystem

Replatform the data.world Glossary Terms feature into the ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric application to catalog assets to provide business context and help users understand data meaning and usage. Terms include definitions, synonyms, related concepts, and ownership information. Use glossary terms to bridge the gap between technical data structures and business understanding.

•Allow users to export existing glossary terms, including names, definitions, and all editable metadata fields, into an Excel or CSV file.

•Enable users to edit exported files offline and re-import them into the Data Catalog.

•Support creation of new glossary terms via import.

•Support updating of existing glossary terms via import.

•Handle many-to-many relationships (Relationship-as Fields) through editable columns in the Excel/CSV file.

•Validate imported files for data integrity and provide clear error feedback for invalid entries.

•Persist validated changes to the Data Catalog using the platform’s import set and transform-map pipeline.

Early mocks

User Action flows

Visual of the overall system architecture by condensing all three user actions into one cohesive flow for transparency.

Screen flow

End to end graphic to illustrate how each of these actions connect back to the main data catalog.

Prototype Videos

Created high fidelity interactive figma prototypes and recorded videos to share with stakeholders, customers and the broader team to get feedback before refining the final mocks and user flows.

Results

Successfully shipped globally in the ServiceNow September 2026 Brazil release and actively driving data compliance and reducing pipeline onboarding times for enterprise platform teams.

Some parts of the design are to be updated in phases to match the figma mocks due to limited engineering resources.

Used Figma Make to draft up early stage designs to review with stakeholders if the design direction we were proposing is what they had envisioned. This helped getting the layouts and general interactions down so that we could start fine tuning what was needed for the MVP release.

Bulk Operations

Partnered closely with systems architects and backend engineers to translate complex legacy data.world schema parameters into strict, native validation tokens. By mapping out file-level, row-level, and commit-time error states directly in our data architecture, we created an intuitive UI triage center that handles unpredictable, high-entropy bulk uploads safely.

A unified, dual-layer interface system that seamlessly scales from Individual Asset Synthesis (granular inline metadata definition) to High-Volume Data Mutation
